Crucial 24 hours for Chiesa

Liverpool have entered a CRUCIAL 24-hour period in their reported chase for the Juventus forward Federico Chiesa. 

Italian transfer supremo Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday night that Liverpool had made an approach for the Euro 2020 winner, who has been frozen out by Juventus under new head coach Thiago Motta. 

Time is running out on a potential deal for the 26-year-old with the transfer window closing on Friday. 

Chiesa is out of contract in Turin next year and is available for a knockdown price, with Italian reports suggesting that a deal could be done for as little as €12 million to €15m.

Arne Slot's secret plot

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has praised Liverpool's way of playing under Arne Slot describing them as 'less vulnerable' out of possession than under Jurgen Klopp.

The former defender has highlighted how Arne Slot's style of play differs from that of Klopp stating Liverpool are now presenting their opponents with fewer goalscoring opportunities.

Nicol touched on The Reds' ability to nulify potential opposition counter attacks quickly will help them immensley on Sunday when they travel to Old Trafford to face rivals Manchester United.

Crucial hurdle cleared for Mamardashvili deal

The Georgian international underwent medical tests in Spain yesterday ahead of his €35 million move from Valencia to Merseyside.

Mamardashvili will remain at Valencia on loan, joining up with Arne Slot's Reds in 2025.

According to Romano Liverpool and Valencia are now signing all the documents for the deal.

Medical tests were successfully completed yesterday and now the contracts are being signed.

ESPN Journalist Mark Ogden has warned Trent Alexander-Arnold over the consequences that could occur if his contract situation doesn't get sorted imminently.

Ogden has insisted Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool need to 'tone down their egos' in what is turning out as a 'game of chess' regarding the defender's contract situation.

The 25 year-old has entered his final year on his current contract and despite Ogden believing his inclination is to stay at Anfield, Alexander-Arnold is reportedly attracted by the idea of playing in La Liga for Real Madrid.

Anfield Watch revealed four months ago that Gomez was open to leaving the club this summer in search of a new challenge. 

Although the 27-year-old wouldn’t agitate for a move, he wanted the club to consider any serious offers for his services. 

There was plenty of Premier League interest reported with Palace, Newcastle, Brentford, West Ham and Aston Villa all mentioned as potential destinations with the player’s preference being a move towards London, his hometown.

Slot's plan to transform full-backs

Liverpool’s head coach Arne Slot has revealed his plans for fullbacks Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson in an interview with Jamie Carragher.

In the interview for Sky Sports, Slot offered some insight on how he will set his team up this season and discussed the fullbacks specifically.

Both Alexander-Arnold and Robertson have started the first two games of the Premier League season and they seem to be the two players Slot wants to utilise the most on either side of the Liverpool defence.

Although we have already seen 180 minutes of ‘Slot-ball’ there are still a lot of questions surrounding the new head coach’s tactical approach.
