Here’s our Liverpool FC news recap for Wednesday 8th May 2024. The Reds were named the fourth most valuable club in football.

Sportico named the most valuable clubs in football right now - and Liverpool did well. They always do, of course, but this was a real sign of their standing and how far they've come over the last few years.

There's also more news on Darwin Nunez, given he's managing to do everything to keep himself there. But are Liverpool going to keep him?

It appears the Reds might have their eyes on a new target, in fact. They've made an enquiry for a striker in Belgium - and one they know well.

Here's our Liverpool FC news recap.

Liverpool have been named inside the top five most valuable clubs in world football right now. Only one English side sits above them.

Sportico have announced their list of the most valuable clubs on the planet right now. They've named 50 in total, with 16 valued over $1bn.

Liverpool are in fourth, sitting on a perceived valuation of $5.11bn. That's around £4.09bn in real money.

The only English club above the Reds are Manchester United, who are actually named as the most valuable in world football. $6.2bn in total - a club that somehow manages to do just about everything wrong for a decade and somehow become more valuable.

Jorge Mendes has reportedly offered a Liverpool play to Barcelona - on one condition. The Reds may be tempted to sell.

Sport in Spain reports that Jorge Mendes has offered Darwin Nunez to Barcelona. There has been speculation in recent weeks that the Catalonians had an interest in Nunez, now it appears there's a chance they could get him.

However, there's a condition here: Barcelona would only move for Nunez if Lewandowski were to leave the club this summer. There's a good chance of that happening, though.
