Liverpool's pre-season plans could be thrown into disarray by Egypt’s decision to call their talisman Mohamed Salah up for the World Cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau next month.

The Pharaohs face Burkina Faso at home on June 6 before a gruelling trip to Guinea Bissau on June 10 with Salah expected to play a full part.

There are also still plans on the part of the nation’s Olympic team manager to call up Salah for the Paris games this summer.

"We are still awaiting the outcome of communication with Salah and his club Liverpool through the Egyptian Football Association," Egypt Olympic coach Rogerio Micale told Winwin.com last week.

Liverpool did win the Carabao Cup in Klopp's final campaign but fell short in the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League after a poor last few months of the season.

Nunez didn't seem happy in the closing weeks of Klopp's tenure as he dropped to the bench, but he has admitted that he is very sad to see the German leave.

"We were all a little shocked by Klopp’s departure, no one expected it. It is a shame that he is leaving," he told Polideportivo.

"I personally would like him to [have left] in a big way, winning things, and it didn’t happen that way. It’s also a shame for the players. I wish him the best in the world."

TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD APPEARS AT MONACO GRAND PRIX

Trent Alexander-Arnold has divided opinion with his choice of outfit as the Liverpool defender was spotted at the Monaco Grand Prix over the weekend.

The No.66 donned a pair of bold cream dungarees over a white vest, while also sporting some enormous sunglasses.

But it wasn't a universally popular choice, with one X user even stating: "Trent Alexander Arnold turns up at the Monaco Grand Prix dressed ready to pick up a spare ride in a Mario kart."

It was no surprise to see Alexander-Arnold in Monaco given he has invested in the Alpine F1 team alongside the likes of boxer Anthony Joshua and golfer Rory McIlroy.

Leeds lost 1-0 to Southampton at Wembley at the weekend, meaning they will have to spend another season in the Championship at the very least.

Anfield Watch exclusively revealed earlier in the season that Liverpool are looking at Summerville. The player scored 19 times in the Championship this season, assisting another nine.

Liverpool are expected to target wide forwards in the summer and Arne Slot could make his compatriot his first Reds signing, with Summerville likely keen to make his return to the top flight next term.

LIVERPOOL LEARN PEDRO NETO PRICE TAG

Liverpool will have to pay at least £60m to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto this summer, surpassing the £53m club record fee that the Old Gold received for Matheus Nunes last year.

Neto has interested Liverpool for some time, something previously confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, with Manchester City and Newcastle United also keen on the Portuguese's signature.

But according to The Telegraph, Wolves will 'demand' at least £60m for Neto in the summer market, despite being in no great need to offload one of their prized assets.

Neto does fit the profile of a Liverpool signing, with huge potential, talent and his best years yet to come, but his injury record will be of concern.
