Liverpool FC News Recap: Fabio Carvalho loan, Ousmane Diomande interest & Jordan Henderson's woes
It's been another day of gossip and rumours on Merseyside, with some fresh updates in the transfer market.
Fabio Carvalho is edging closer to a loan, a new centre-back has been linked with Anfield and Jordan Henderson's future remains undecided in Saudi Arabia.
Here is your latest Liverpool news from 8 January.
FABIO CARVALHO CLOSES IN ON HULL CITY LOAN
Having been recalled early from his loan spell with RB Leipzig after limited game time, youngster Carvalho is closing in on another loan move this January.
Having been linked with a host of clubs in England, it seems that Liam Rosenior's Hull City have managed to persuade Liverpool to lend them Carvalho, who previously impressed in the Championship with Fulham.
The Portugal U21 international will team up with fellow Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton in the second division.
MOHAMED SALAH MISSES FROM THE SPOT...AGAIN
Mohamed Salah's recent penalty woes have travelled with him on international duty, the Egypt winger missing another spot-kick during his nation's 2-0 friendly win against Tanzania.
In Egypt's final game before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Salah slammed his penalty against the crossbar, the ball rebounding off the back of the Tanzania goalkeeper on the way in.
Salah once again went for power over precision, making it the 31-year-old's third miss from 12 yards this season.
OUSMANE DIOMANDE LINKED WITH LIVERPOOL SWITCH
Sporting CP centre-back Ousmane Diomande has been linked with a move to Liverpool, the Daily Mail reporting that the 20-year-old is liked by the Reds' recruitment team.
The Ivory Coast defender, who is currently away with his country ahead of 2023 AFCON, has a £69m release clause in his contract with the Portuguese outfit.
The Reds have also been linked with Diomande's Sporting CP teammate Goncalo Inacio, the 22-year-old centre-back long-admired by Liverpool.
As they traverse Portugal looking for talent, the Reds have also scouted Benfica's 20-year-old defender Antonio Silva.
JORDAN HENDERSON'S SAUDI ARABIA EXIT?
It's fair to say that things haven't worked out for Jordan Henderson since his move to Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia last summer.
The former Liverpool captain has reportedly offered himself out to a number of clubs across Europe, including plenty of teams in England as he looks for a Saudi exit.
Anfield Watch also took a look at where the 33-year-old may end up in January, with options in Germany and the Premier League.
ALL EYES ON FULHAM
Having now booked their spot in the FA Cup fourth round, Liverpool will turn their attention to their semi-final first leg against Fulham on Wednesday.
The Reds will want to take a handsome lead to Craven Cottage in the second leg in late January, but the 4-3 clash with the London club earlier in the season suggests things won't be straightforward for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp should go strong for Wednesday's clash, although there may be a few changes from Sunday's victory over Arsenal.
