Alexander-Arnold is currently contracted to the Reds, having spent his entire career at Liverpool so far.

But that might come to an end when the season concludes and Alexander-Arnold's current deal expires. So far, Liverpool have not been able to tie him down to a new contract, and he is free to negotiate from clubs from abroad about a move to pastures new.

Real Madrid currently seems to be the only club who have shown a desire to get the deal done. Although even they seem to be moving on.

Real Madrid moving on from Trent Alexander-Arnold?

Real Madrid site Defensa Central listed the club's summer targets in a report today. The following names were mentioned Dean Huijsen, Miguel Gutiérrez, Martín Zubimendi, Joshua Kimmich, Florian Wirtz and Rodri.

Notice a notable omission? Yes, that's right Alexander-Arnold's name was not on the list of potential targets for Real Madrid.

Could this be because the Spanish giants are moving on? Have they finally surrendered defeat?

The same happened with Alphonso Davies, who was always on the radar of the Spanish club and who was supposed to join Real at the end of his contract.

However, he put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with Bayern Munich this week, quashing any such notions.

The Spanish media could easily be making the same blunder with Alexander-Arnold, and his latest omission from the club's list of summer transfer targets is a telling sign of how the club might really be feeling.

The fact that Joshua Kimmich, who can also play as a right-back has also been mentioned as a target in the above report makes the idea even more compelling.
