Real Madrid see Liverpool as a ‘brother club’: Are they taking the p***?
Real Madrid reportedly view Liverpool as a 'brother'. I'm not sure the Reds see it that way.
Marca reports that Liverpool are viewed as a 'brother club' by Real Madrid. It's come up as Los Blancos consider a move for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
You see, Real want to sign the Scouser and intend to do so on a free transfer in 2025. The injury to Dani Carvajal, however, has changed their timeline - they need a right-back in January.

And so Madrid will attempt to negotiate with Liverpool over a fee. Maybe they can get Alexander-Arnold in early and compete for the UEFA Champions League with him in the team.
But they're careful of ruining what's a really good relationship with Liverpool. They're not going to try anything underhanded - they're after smooth negotiations to see what comes of it.
Are they taking the p***?
Brother clubs?
The idea that Real Madrid and Liverpool are on great terms, brothers even, is ridiculous. It's as ridiculous as the idea that Real Madrid aren't going to try and force a move in January.
Alexander-Arnold was plastered across Marca's front page this week, for the very same article suggesting Madrid would be careful with their approach. Marca being, essentially, a mouthpiece for the club.
This is the same Real Madrid who have been working on a move for Alexander-Arnold since March. This isn't a club that has entirely respected Liverpool.
And why would they? Real have consistently gotten one up on the Reds, even if their two Champions League final wins had enormous slices of luck to go with them.
That snowballed into a series of transfers going their way as Aurelien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe all went to Madrid over Liverpool.
But the tide is turning. Real Madrid look awful this season and there's a sense that Liverpool could roll the over in their upcoming fixture.
And let's be honest - doing so would likely leave Madrid feeling very ill of the Reds. The Ballon d'Or debacle showed us how quickly opinions change once things go their way.
Things won't go their way, either. Liverpool will spank them at Anfield and should chuck their January offer in the bin. Turning tides - time for the Reds to win.
