Liverpool player ratings from their AWFUL Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest

Here are our player ratings for Liverpool from their awful Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

Liverpool struggled badly at Anfield as they fell 1-0 to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. The Reds struggled for any kind of final ball, while giving up a goal on the counter that really should have been stopped.

It's the first setback of the Arne Slot era - one that they'll want to quickly put behind them. This was the polar opposite of what we've seen so far this season.

Here's how we scored the players.

Liverpool player ratings

Alisson Becker: 7

An average score as he didn't have to do much. The goal was a fantastic finish and not one he could do much about.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: 6

Played two or three different positions here but his passes were just slightly off every time. Still arguably the most creative player on the pitch, just not his day (which is a theme here)

Ibrahima Konaté: 6

Not too bad but arguably could have closed down on the Forest goal a little sharper. Subbed off as Arne Slot tried something new.

Virgil van Dijk: 7

Didn't exactly do anything wrong. Goal came from the other side and he cleared the ball pretty consistently all day.

Andy Robertson: 5

Lots of energy but nothing really came off for him. Swapped out for Tsimikas in the second half.

Ryan Gravenberch: 6

Not a bad game at all, Gravenberch just wasn't quite as sharp as he has been recently. Disappeared a little late on, but had positive first-half moments.

Alexis Mac Allister: 5

Not a good game for Mac Allister. Maybe he was tired after the Argentina break (he did pick up an injury there) but he spent more time getting fouled than anything else.

Dominik Szoboszlai: 6

Ended up with three key passes but didn't really grab the game. Has looked more decisive in recent weeks than he did here.

Mohamed Salah: 5

One of several players who looked sharp on the ball until he had to do the important bit. Passes were too long, shots too wayward. One to forget from a man in form.

Diogo Jota: 5

Things wouldn't fall for Jota here, who really should have scored in the first half with a close-range effort. A frustratingly poor showing when Liverpool were crying out for some quality up top.

Luis Diaz: 7

Brutally unfortunate not to open the scoring here as his first-half effort crashed off the post, with Diaz having forced the opportunity all on his own. Things didn't click as they have recently but still, dangerous.

Subs

Conor Bradley: 4

A difficult one for Bradley as he came on in one position then swapped into a back three. Still, he offered nothing going forward and should have done far better on the goal.

Cody Gakpo: 4

Didn't do anything.

Darwin Nunez: 4

Didn't do anything (and gave the ball away ahead of Forest's goal)

Curtis Jones: N/A

Kostas Tsimikas: N/A

Nearly gave him a two solely for that push but didn't really have enough time to influence things.
