Liverpool FC News: Opta supercomputer makes HUGE Liverpool title prediction

Opta's supercomputer has made an enormous prediction regarding Liverpool's Premier League title chances following Sunday's matches.

The Reds returned to the top of the table after a 2-1 victory over Brighton courtesy of goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah, with Liverpool maintaining their unbeaten Anfield record this season.

All eyes then turned to Manchester City vs Arsenal in the late kick-off and, fortunately for Liverpool, the game ended in a goalless draw.

That puts Liverpool two points and three points clear of Arsenal and Man City respectively with just nine games still to play.

With limited points still to play for, it appears that this season's title race will be heading down to the wire.

LIVERPOOL NOW FAVOURITES FOR THE PREMIER LEAGUE

According to Opta, Sunday's matches had a huge impact on where the Premier League title may well end up, with Liverpool now favourites to win a second league crown under Klopp.

Liverpool are given a 47.7% chance of lifting the title by the supercomputer, a 12.4% increase from before the March international break.

Man City have been Opta's favourites for the majority of the season despite rarely occupying top spot, but they now have just a 33.5% chance of lifting another title after their bore draw with Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola's side do have the simplest run of fixtures in the title race between now and the end of the season, but Opta still believe that Liverpool are the front-runners.

Meanwhile, despite being just two points off the Reds, Arsenal have a mere 18.8% chance of winning the league - an unchanged total from before Sunday's games.

Of course, with midweek Premier League fixtures to come, these numbers could change dramatically in the next few days, but you would assume that Liverpool's chances would only go up given they face Sheffield United at home on Thursday.

The Reds then face one of their trickiest remaining fixtures when they travel to Old Trafford to face rivals Manchester United next Sunday.
