Liverpool's Mohamed Salah handed Middle East REWARD during contract talks
Every Liverpool fan knows that Salah is the best in the world at the moment.
Despite the constant speculation about his future at Liverpool, with a potential move to Saudi Arabia on the cards, Salah has been the standout player across Europe’s top five leagues this season.

The Egyptian King has ten goals and ten assists in 17 games across all competitions this season. He's two ahead of Erling Haaland for goal contributions in the Premier League and is taking his game to another level in the search for trophies this season.
Salah has matured into one of the most complete attackers the Premier League has ever seen, and is just as important in defence and as a target for Liverpool's defenders to get the side up the pitch as he is in attack with his goals and assists. He also loves Liverpool, and has stayed at home during this international break to rest ahead of the rest of the season.
Talks are reportedly set to take place to try and agree an extension that will keep Salah at Liverpool for a number of seasons but progress appears to be stalling.
Despite his continued greatness, Salah is often overlooked for individual awards. He wasn’t included on either of the shortlists for the Ballon D’Or or CAF African Player of the Year this year having been snubbed for players like Artym Dovbyk and Amine Gouiri.
However, it looks like Salah has been handed a big boost amidst all the contract speculation, having finally been nominated for some awards.
Salah shortlisted for the Globe Soccer Awards
Salah has been nominated for two awards at the Beyond Developments Dubai Globe Soccer Awards 2024, in what will be a welcome relief for him from ongoing contract speculation.
The awards were founded in 2010 by Tomasso Bendoni, and have billed themselves as "one of the world’s premier celebrations of international football prowess."
Salah is one of 33 players who been nominated for the 'Best Men's Player' award this year. Other notable nominations include Cristiano Ronaldo, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal.
He's also in the running to win the 'Best Forward' award, and is up against nine other players, including Vinicius Junior, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.
Can Salah win an award?
Salah is definitely in with a shout of winning one, if not two of the awards he has been nominated.
While he has been snubbed in the past, the setup of the awards points towards his chances being higher than normal.
According to Globe Soccer, this year's winners will be chosen “through a unique dual selection process. Football enthusiasts worldwide will have their say in determining the recipients of these coveted awards through a global fan vote. Additionally, an esteemed panel of international football icons will lend their expertise to the selection process.
“This year’s jury includes legendary figures such as Francesco Totti, Iker Casillas, Luis Figo, and Marcello Lippi.”
Ian Rush is also a member of that judging panel. As a Liverpool legend in his own right, he might want to see Salah take top spot at the awards.
The global fan vote could also be a bonus for Salah, who is incredibly popular across the world and especially in the Middle East, where the awards are being held.
The award ceremony takes place on December 27th, the day after Liverpool host relegation-threatened Leicester at Anfield.
