Is a MOMENTOUS Mohamed Salah contract extension now in jeopardy?
Mohamed Salah has undoubtedly been the best player in the Premier League this season.
The Egyptian King has 27 goals and 17 assists and has played a huge part in the Reds’ charge to their 20th league title.

Salah’s incredible campaign has been bitter-sweet for Liverpool supporters who are all too aware that this could be the 32-year-old’s final season in Merseyside.
With less than three months remaining on his current deal, time is running out for Salah to extend his time at Anfield.
The sensational season that Salah has put together will no doubt have been enough to prove his worth to the team, but his recent form may have weakened his hand in contract negotiations.
Salah’s poor run could jeopardise contract talks
Despite leading the league for both goals and assists, Salah has only found the back of the net in one of his last six matches for the Reds – when he scored a brace of penalties against Southampton.
Salah has one assist in this time too, but his overall performance in this spell has been worrying for supporters.
EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool ENTER Hugo Ekitike talks
For the majority of the season, Salah has showed absolutely no signs of slowing down, but the last few weeks may be a sign of what’s to come.
Liverpool’s no.11 will be 33 by the start of next season, and his recent dip in form could be the start of a natural decline for players over 30.
Over the course of his Liverpool career the Egyptian has often encountered a dip in form at around this time of the season, so it may be nothing to worry about, but with his future so uncertain he still has a lot to play for.
Does Salah have a future at Liverpool?
The league title is pretty much in the bag for the Reds already and recently Salah has been playing like it.
The urgency is missing from the superstar’s game, he is playing like he’s already got his big-money contract and his future is sorted. As far as we’re aware that is not the case.
If Salah was holding out on negotiations to try and secure a better deal for himself, his plan may have backfired.
His dip in form has put the ball back in Liverpool’s court, and Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards will be aware that this drop-off could be symptomatic of a greater fall off heading into next season.
Salah has eight games remaining this season, they may be his final eight games as a Liverpool player, but he must prove that his recent struggle is just a blip and not a sign that he’s starting to decline if he wants an extension on his terms.

There is no way to tell the true cause of Salah’s dip in form, but everyone involved will hope that it is temporary and that the Egyptian King can return to his best to deliver many more years of success at Anfield.
