Why MEGA new deal for Mo Salah is Liverpool's only choice
Mohamed Salah has been the best player in world football this season.
Liverpool Transfer News: Szoboszlai Saudi update as Reds REJECT demands
Even before this season every Liverpool fan would have been able to tell you that the Egyptian King was still capable of greatness, but now it’s clear for all to see.

Salah has 55 goal involvements already this campaign and, with nearly three months left of the season, those are ridiculous numbers.
Liverpool’s talisman has already shattered a number of records this season and is on track for the best individual campaign the Premier League has ever seen.
We are truly witnessing greatness and yet, as things stand, this will be Salah’s final season at Anfield.
Salah deserves a raise
There are less than four months remaining on Salah’s contract and, although negotiations are taking place, it doesn’t feel like an extension is imminent.
Saudi Arabian champions Al-Hilal are very publicly pursuing Salah and PSG are also in the reckoning.
Convincing Salah to stay at Anfield may require offering him improved terms, but the Ballon d’Or contender is showing he deserves them.
At 32-years-old many people, FSG included, may have reservations about offering Salah a multi-year contract on improved terms – but that scenario still looks pretty much risk free.

The worst-case scenario
There is statistical evidence to prove that a player over performs in the year of their extension and is likely to underperform the year after, but would this be a problem?
Even if Salah Salah’s output were to drop by half, leaving him on 27 goal involvements, he would still be Liverpool’s leading attacker by 15 goals and assists.
It is unlikely that Salah will reach the level he has achieved this season again, but even a fraction of that level would still have him as one of the Premier League’s elite talents.
The other issue could be major or persistent injuries, something that Salah has so far managed to avoid in his career, but there is an easy solution staring Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes in the face.
Even if Salah’s form were to drop off a cliff or injuries were to strike, there is likely to still be a suitor that is willing to pay more than the £0 the Reds will receive for their talisman if he leaves this summer.
The best-case scenario
Salah currently earns a reported £350k a week. Even if his salary was upped by 50% to £525k a week, making him one of the league’s top earners, Liverpool would be paying £27.3 million a year for his services.
To adequately replace Salah’s output the club would likely have to spend upwards of four times that outlay.
The best-case scenario for Liverpool is that they renew Salah, who carries his form from this season into the next and the Reds have the best player in the world playing for them once again.
There is a summer rebuild coming at Anfield and a number of big names are set to depart, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch.
This means there are also likely to be some big arrivals, and an improved front-line that also includes Salah could see the Egyptian put up even better numbers that he is right now.
For anyone who has watched Mo Salah this season the course of action should be clear. Pay Mo his money and keep the best player in the world at Anfield for the foreseeable future.
