Mo Salah follows contract BREAKTHROUGH with second major decision
Mo Salah has followed a reported breakthrough in his Liverpool contract talks with a second major decision. It's one the Reds will adore.
The Times was among many reporting on Wednesday that Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk will continue at Liverpool beyond this season. The pair's current contracts are due to expire this summer.

But there has been an apparent breakthrough in the story that has rumbled on all season long. Salah and Van Dijk are now ready to commit their next two years to Liverpool and deals should be signed shortly.
It's magnificent news, of course. Salah, in particular, has been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and that's always going to put Liverpool up against it.
Especially with the money he was reportedly offered.
Liverpool have Salah convinced, though, and he'll spend the next couple of years chasing even more records with the Reds. It's glorious.
And it seems Salah has used that to make another major decision that will affect next season.

Mo Salah's summer plan
The Times are again among several reporting that Salah plans on missing Egypt's summer camp in June. The Liverpool forward will instead use it to rest after another intense season.
But more importantly, it should give Liverpool a refreshed Salah heading into their next campaign. That should be game-changing.
Salah, after all, is not 24 anymore and periods of recovery like this are absolutely vital for him. We've all seen how well he starts seasons compared to how he ends them.
A fresh Salah is arguably the world's best player - he certainly was this season. Things have trailed off a bit in 2025 but that doesn't change the fact that Liverpool's title charge was built on his form over the first half of the season.
Resting this summer gives Salah the ideal chance of recreating that form and pushing the Reds towards a title defence. This is genuinely the perfect news on the back of that contract breakthrough - evidence that Liverpool will be getting him at his best next season.
Of course, we'd all love for Salah to retire from international football and guarantee these rests but we're not sure that'll happen anytime soon. Elite players are featuring for their countries for longer and longer - and Salah means a lot to his country.

Skipping that summer camp is the next best thing, though, and we can't wait to see the effect it has on Liverpool's no.11.
