Mo Salah opens talks over extraordinary deal
The future of Mohamed Salah has been one of the most discussed topics in football for the last 18 months.
The Egyptian King’s current contract at Anfield is set to expire at the end of the season, and speculation about a potential destination for the 32-year-old, should he choose not to extend, has been rife.

When discussing possible destinations for Salah it is hard to ignore the allure of the Saudi Pro League and so it is no surprise that many view this as his most likely next step.
Some reports have even gone as far as suggesting a deal has already been agreed, but a new report suggest that isn’t the case.
An agreement for Salah is not yet in place
According to a report from Egyptian outlet Masrawy, a ‘well-informed source’ has revealed the extent of Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal’s negotiations for Salah.
“There are negotiations between the Saudi league and Salah's agent, Ramy, but so far, no official steps have been taken,” the source claims.
“The negotiations are about loaning Mohamed Salah to Al-Hilal to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, but up to this point, Salah and his agent have not reached a formal agreement.”
Turki Alalshikh, the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, added fuel to the fire by posting an edited picture of Salah in Al-Hilal's kit on his social media.
It was recently revealed that Al-Hilal’s plan was to include Salah in their Club World Cup squad, but the competition starts over two weeks before the 32-year-old’s contract expires this summer.
It appears that a very short-term loan could be the solution Al-Hilal are seeking to this problem.
What does Salah’s future hold?
Although the report doesn’t reveal the length of loan that Al-Hilal are negotiating for, it can be presumed that any deal would see Salah join after the conclusion of the Reds' campaign.
Salah has recorded an impressive 18 goals and 13 assists in his opening 20 Premier League matches this season and it is highly unlikely that Liverpool will sanction a deal that would see him move on loan to Saudi Arabia for the final six months of his contract.
Salah has been free to discuss and sign a pre-contract agreement with any oversees club since 1 January and has reiterated multiple times that this could be his final season in Merseyside.
Although negotiations are almost certainly underway over the future of the Egyptian King, if the report from Masrawy is to be believed then nothing has been agreed, and this could leave the door open for Salah to remain at Liverpool.
