Martin Odegaard makes WILD Premier League title race claim
Liverpool have put on a Premier League title charge that no one could have predicted.

When Arne Slot arrived in the summer many Reds were full of hope, but next to no one would have predicted the Dutchman would win the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Saturday’s win over Southampton saw Slot’s side extend their lead at the top of the table to 16 points, although second place Arsenal do have two games in hand.
For many, the destination of this year’s Premier League trophy is a foregone conclusion. It will be Liverpool’s.
Arsenal’s captain, Martin Odegaard, has now weighed in on how he thinks the Premier League run-in will go.
Odegaard thinks Arsenal are still in it
Speaking ahead of the Gunners’ game away to Manchester United, club captain Odegaard refused to rule his side out of the title race.
“We’ll fight until the end,” Odegaard said, via Metro. “That’s the mindset of everyone. We’ve been fighting three years in a row for the title and you go a couple of years back then we were leading with a lot of points and then we finished second. It shows that everything is possible.”

The 26-year-old citing his own side’s collapse as proof that Liverpool are not certain title winners will bring a smile to the faces of Reds all over the land.
At the time of writing Arsenal are still 16 points off top spot, and also trail Liverpool’s goal difference tally by 14.
Are Arsenal still in the Premier League title race?
Mathematically, yes. In reality probably not.
It would take a momentous swing in form from both sides for the Gunners to catch Liverpool.
Even if Arsenal win every Premier League game between now and the end of the season, they will require Liverpool to drop 10 points and the goal difference to swing by 14 goals.
For context, Slot’s side have dropped only 17 points in their 29 Premier League games this season. They don’t look likely to drop 10 points in their final nine games.
Arne Slot and Liverpool of course need to maintain composure, but if the Reds win their next six Premier League games, the title will be Liverpool’s.
