It may aid FSG in getting the fans on side because the decision would show ambition and help the club rise in stature.

Now, we are presented with the proposition of Spanish club Malaga CF sitting alongside the Reds in FSG's portfolio, according to The Athletic, although Liverpool would take priority as they are one of Europe's elite clubs.

But what exactly would this mean for Liverpool in reality?

How Liverpool can benefit from the Malaga purchase

FSG are yet get the deal across the line, because Paris Saint Germain's owners as still very much in the race, but if an agreement is eventually reached then the potential impact for Liverpool is huge.

Players who are performing well for Malaga in the Segunda Division will stand a greater chance of moving to Liverpool and likewise players that might need to be loaned out or sold could stand greater likelihood of moving to Spain.

Manchester City have been able to use the City Group - that includes 13 clubs - to their benefit for many years. Encouraging young players to join one of the 'feeder clubs', so that the Citizens have an opportunity to see them develop before making a move themselves.

Liverpool in this scenario would be able to have FSG purchase players for Malaga who might be deemed too high risk a transfer to the Premier League. The South American market, for example, is littered with talented players who Liverpool might ordinarily shy away from because they haven't proven themselves in Europe yet.

Once a player is injected into the busyness of the Premier League, they are subject to speculation and over-analysis from the get go, especially if you join a club like Liverpool.

If the player doesn't speak the English language, then they are almost setup to fail and their reputation can be damaged immeasurably.

As such, the prospect of having a club that players can join first, that FSG also own, before a move to Liverpool is in the offing would eliminate any risk.

The intention of course would be for the players to succeed at any club that they join, but Liverpool would have an added layer of protection, and a way to tap into the South American market.

Until everything is confirmed, fans shouldn't get too excited. But if FSG can pull off the move, then Liverpool will be able to benefit from the model greatly, setting themselves up for a positive future.
