Luis Diaz Colombia display leaves fans with one MASSIVE question
Luis Diaz impressed once again for Colombia as he scored in his side’s 2-1 loss to Brazil on Thursday night.
The forward has struggled to find form for Liverpool in recent weeks, leaving fans questioning why he can perform for his country but not his club.

Although Diaz started the season in great form for the Reds, he has disappointed overall and his place in the squad next season is now being called into question.
Barcelona are reportedly interested and there will no doubt be other suitors who emerge if the 28-year-old is made available this summer.
If he can’t translate his international form into domestic performances, then he may well be entering his final months as a Liverpool player.
Diaz’s disappointing season
Anfield Watch exclusively revealed in February that Diaz is one of a number of high-profile players who are expected to leave this summer as part of an attacking overhaul.
Although the forward has been almost ever-present in Arne Slot’s starting XI this season, either on the left of through the middle, fans have become increasingly frustrated with Diaz.
With only one goal in his previous 11 Premier League matches, Diaz is clearly not playing at the required level for a side that are hoping to compete for the biggest prizes in football.
By comparison, Diaz has scored six goals in 17 appearances for Colombia in the last 12 months.
Whilst that record isn’t hugely prolific, it is better than his output for Liverpool in the same number of matches (one goal).
Diaz’s future
After scoring five goals in his first five games under Slot, many supporters hoped that Diaz would finally step up to become a truly world-class forward this season, but that development hasn’t materialised.
Now, it looks like Diaz is on the way out, with a fee of up to €70 million set to fund a summer rebuild at Anfield.
That sum would be a decent profit on the €53 million the Reds paid to Porto in January 2022 and would boost Richard Hughes’ war chest.
With big names like Alexander Isak and Julian Alvarez being linked with Anfield switches, the Reds will need to raise funds from player sales to secure their top targets, and Diaz is likely to be a player on the chopping block.
Diaz’s future isn’t certain, but fans will be left thinking ‘if only he could perform for Liverpool like he does Colombia’ after this international break.
