Liverpool players gift Jurgen Klopp INCREDIBLE leaving present during farewell party
There is no doubting that Liverpool fans, staff members and players adore Jurgen Klopp.
That was evident during the emotional scenes after the full-time whistle following his final game in charge of the club last weekend, a 2-0 victory over Wolves that saw the great coach say his final goodbye to Anfield.
The German will be a tough act to follow after sparking a trophy-laden revolution on Merseyside following his arrival in October 2015, and the unenviable task of filling his shoes will fall to Arne Slot.
Liverpool's squad have been showing their appreciation for the 56-year-old over the past week with plenty of tributes to the legendary manager, with the club's stars devastated to see him exit.
However, they took their appreciation to a new level during a farewell gathering prior to Klopp's final match, gifting the former Borussia Dortmund boss a very expensive leaving present.
JURGEN KLOPP'S LIVERPOOL LEAVING PRESENT
As reported by The Athletic's James Pearce, it was Virgil van Dijk that led the tributes to Klopp and his departing staff members, such as assistant manager Pep Lijnders, during a barbecue after training.
Every staff member set to leave Liverpool this summer was then gifted a Rolex watch by the club's players, a gift that shows just how much Klopp and his staff will be missed after their departures.
Incoming manager Slot will be hopeful of earning the same respect and admiration from the Liverpool squad in the coming years, but few managers in world football are as loved by their players as Klopp.
The likes of Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, Vitor Matos and Andreas Kornmayer will be leaving the club as well this summer, alongside Thiago and Joel Matip from the playing squad.
It promises to be a big summer of transition for the Reds, who now have Michael Edwards and Julian Ward back working behind the scenes.
