Jamie Carragher sums up what Jurgen Klopp achieved at Liverpool, and what he DID NOT
Jamie Carragher has moved to sum up Jurgen Klopp’s time as Liverpool manager. It’s an important thing to do as Arne Slot’s expectations are set.
What did Jurgen Klopp truly achieve at Liverpool? It's an interesting question to consider as we move into the Arne Slot era.
After all, Slot will be compared to Klopp in just about every aspect of the job. Living up to his predecessor's reputation is a tricky task, of course, but what does it mean exactly?

Jamie Carragher has summed it all up in the Telegraph.
"Klopp was a winner, but not a serial winner," he said. "He left as a legend having won one English title and one Champions League.
"He is not the most successful Liverpool coach ever, nor did he get close to being the most decorated Premier League manager of all time.
"He was loved because he made sure Liverpool were regularly in the fight, throwing punches at City and Real even when they did not land knockout blows."
Jurgen Klopp's legacy
Carragher is on the money here. Klopp didn't win all he could have won (though, he did win every major trophy) but he took Liverpool back to the level where you could compete at the very top.
Of course, he probably should have had more trophies - we'll see what the outcome of Manchester City's hearing later this year is.
But Klopp 'made us dream' in a way that no one else had quite managed. Gerard Houllier and Rafa Benitez came incredibly close - and got the Reds back among the best again - but Klopp managed to do it consistently. At one point, his Liverpool team were quite indisputably the best in the world.
Slot now has to match that - then we'll see about going one further. What Klopp did was extraordinary and even if he didn't win quite as many trophies as he could have, he left a legacy that few can match.
