Who is Harvey Owen?
Liverpool signed Harvey Owen from Wolverhampton when he was an 14-year-old back in the summer of 2023 as per the Daily Mail he cost £800k, which is quite a high figure to pay for someone of his age.
Owen is a centre-back, who is comfortable playing on the left-side of the defence despite being right-footed.
He is long-limbed and tall with a towering presence. Since joining the club, he has been playing for the Reds' U15 and U16 sides, growing through the ranks.
Recently, however, he made his debut for Liverpool's U18 team, coming on as a substitute in a 5-0 drubbing against Blackburn Rovers in the U18 Premier League.
In the past, Owen has also caught the attention of Yaya Toure. As per the above mentioned Daily Mail article, Toure spotted him playing for Wolves' academy and predicted he would have a bright future in the game.
'We recently played at Tottenham and he had a nice pat on the back from an ex-player in Yaya Toure,' His Wolverhampton youth coach, Wes Hughes explained.
'He personally went up to Harvey and said that he had a lot of potential and would be a really good player in the future, so I think he'll be really proud of that.'
Now Owen has made his first important stride as a Liverpool player. Making your debut for the U18 team is a significant landmark for any young player.
