The moment when Harvey Elliott proved he is INDISPENSABLE to Liverpool
Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has endured a frustrating season on a personal level - even if it’s now been crowned with the Premier League title.
The 22-year-old has largely been unable to break into Arne Slot’s starting XI - making 14 appearances in the league but zero starts thus far.

His lack of action led to speculation that he would be sold in the January transfer window. Both Borussia Dortmund and Brighton were linked with his signature and the Reds were reported to be ready to listen to bids worth between £40 million and £50m.

Under contract until 2027, Liverpool will indeed have to weigh up carefully what comes next for the England under-21 international. One thing is for certain - Elliott is not planning on leaving. He reiterated that stance earlier in the season.
He is dedicated to the club and determined to establish himself - either on the right wing in time as a Mo Salah successor or else in attacking midfield.
Elliott has quality; he’s scored three times in only 168 Champions League minutes this season - including a memorable winner against Paris Saint-Germain. But, perhaps more importantly, Elliott lives and breathes the football club.
Elliott a die-hard Liverpool fan
Born in the south, the playmaker nonetheless grew up a Liverpool fan - as evidenced by the occasional throwback image he posts on his Instagram account.
He also famously attended the 2018 Champions League final as a 15-year-old - when Liverpool were beaten in Kyiv by Real Madrid.
Elliott winds up Richarlison
No doubt he will be hoping to get his hands on that trophy one day - having joined the club the summer after Liverpool won the title in 2019. And his Liverpool credentials were AGAIN on display on Sunday.
With Liverpool comfortably outclassing Tottenham to wrap up the title, Elliott got involved in a late altercation with Spurs substitute Richarlison.
The former Everton forward was on the receiving end of a glorious jibe from Elliott after their clash.
With Liverpool’s 20th league title in the bag, the midfielder took the opportunity to flash up a "3 - 0" hand gesture - referencing the fact it’s now 30 years since Everton won a trophy.
All the while, the Anfield faithful were serenading the Brazilian with a chorus of “blue and white shite”.

That a superstar, title-winning player can take the time to remind Everton of their place at such a crucial juncture is simply fantastic. It’s precisely the kind of kinship that fans look for in players and another good reason to ensure Elliott stays around.
