HORROR show puts all eyes on Richard Hughes' star Liverpool signing
A Sunday horror show has all eyes on Richard Hughes’ sole major signing at Liverpool thus far. Will he recover?
Richard Hughes has had a slow start to life as Liverpool's sporting director. In that not much has actually been done.

There was meant to be one massive addition to the Liverpool squad this season in Martin Zubimendi. With the deal done, though, Zubimendi pulled the plug.
It means that Hughes only actually gave Arne Slot one new player for his debut campaign: Federico Chiesa. We've barely seen him, however, as he battles fitness problems.
But he wasn't the only signing. Giorgi Mamardashvili was the major summer signing in the end, he just didn't go straight to Liverpool.
The Georgian instead remained with Valencia on loan and will join up with the Reds for next season. At least, that's the plan.
Plans can change.
Mamardashvili's rough night
Valencia took the trip up north to Barcelona on Sunday for what turned into a shocking night. They conceded seven with just one in reply as Hansi Flick's team massacred them.
And Valencia were awful here. They had no idea how to cope with Barcelona's attack, whether they were pushing high or dropping deep.

Their complete inability to track runners in the first half was laughable - and Mamardashvili was left in an impossible situation. Not that the goalkeeper was entirely blameless.
While no one could hold him responsible for the seven goals, the third was his fault. Mamardashvili found himself stranded as he ran out to try and sweep up a pass over the top. He was nowhere near first to it, allowing him to be rounded for a tap-in.
Not a good moment.
Mamardashvili can't entirely be blamed here - he'd conceded three in about 17 minutes and was clearly attempting to take charge. He was never getting to the ball before Raphinha, though, and it was a clear error.
But now all eyes are on Mamardashvili. How will he respond to such a nightmare performance? How will he respond to his error?
He made some decent saves in the game, though you could argue he was expected to make them all. He certainly struggled to make any goal-saving saves, for lack of a better term.
Liverpool will want to see a positive reaction. He's the man they've invested their future in, essentially, believing he can take over from one of the greatest we've ever seen at Anfield in Alisson Becker.
Mamardashvili is down but he can certainly get back up. Prove he can rebound from all this and maybe Liverpool will even see it as a positive.
