Liverpool youngster Fabio Carvalho has offered a huge update on his future plans following a successful loan spell with Hull City this season.

The 21-year-old endured a difficult debut campaign with Liverpool last season and struggled during his first loan spell of 2023/24 with RB Leipzig.

The former Fulham man was recalled by the Reds in January and sent out on loan to second tier Hull, where he has thrived with some dazzling displays.

However, there has been plenty of speculation regarding his Liverpool future despite his impressive spell in the Championship, with Fabrizio Romano having previously stated that his future will be decided by Jurgen Klopp's successor.

Liverpool's next manager will almost certainly be Arne Slot after Liverpool agreed compensation with Feyenoord for the 45-year-old's services, and his use of an attacking midfielder in his tactical setup should offer Carvalho hope.

It appears that Carvalho is optimistic about his future at Anfield as well and he hasn't given up on making it at Liverpool just yet.

FABIO CARVALHO'S FUTURE PLANS

Speaking with the Liverpool Echo, Carvalho was asked whether his plan was to impress the next Liverpool manager in pre-season this summer.

He responded: "Yeah, that’s the target. The way I see it, it’s a fresh start. Not just for me, but obviously whoever comes in.

"It’ll be a fresh start for me, and for the likes of Tyler [Morton - also on loan at Hull] as well. We’ve just got to take the chances that come. Really grasp it and take it with both hands.

"Tyler and I have spoken [about about the summer]. Especially after the news came out about Jurgen. We just spoke about what could potentially change at the club.

“Ultimately, it’s a fresh start for both of us. We’ll just go back there with nothing to lose and everything to gain.

"Obviously I want to break into the Liverpool first-team squad, into the starting XI as well. For now, I’m focused on Hull City and getting promoted. I’m going to see how pre-season turns out and then we’ll make a decision [on my future] after that."

Carvalho has been linked with a summer exit, which is entirely possible regardless of Klopp's exit, with Barcelona having even been touted with interest in the past.

However, Slot is renowned for working closely with young players and improving talent, meaning Carvalho has an enormous opportunity to impress the incoming manager this summer.
