Not a good look for Liverpool at all as one star embarrasses his teammates. The Reds are out of the FA Cup after losing to Plymouth Argyle.

Liverpool are out of the FA Cup after losing 1-0 to Plymouth Argyle. Anyone who had the misfortune of watching this one knows the story - the Reds essentially did nothing in 90 minutes except concede a penalty.

EXCLUSIVE: Diogo Jota among high-profile exits in era-defining overhaul

This was an atrocious performance and one that screamed 'heavily rotated team that lacks motivation'. Liverpool had zero rhythm, zero cohesion and zero ideas.

So who to blame? That's a tricky one.

On the one hand, Arne Slot. He put out a heavily weakened team here and took a massive chance on the players he doesn't typically fancy.

On the other hand, this was a group of players who should absolutely beat the team sitting at the bottom of the Championship. The team who have conceded the most goals in English professional league football this season.

That latter stat is the key one, though, and certainly shows where the blame lies on Sunday evening.

Liverpool's forwards

Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Federico Chiesa all started this one in attacking roles. Darwin Nunez came off the bench to play in the second half.

Only Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo, Liverpool's best forwards, got the day off. It showed that they weren't there.

Jota, Diaz and Chiesa managed one shot on target between them (Jota) across 90 minutes. Nunez offered up one more after he came on.

James McConnell then had a shot on target but there was one more - Caoimhin Kelleher's late effort. And that's the embarrassment here.

Kelleher came up late for a free-kick and very nearly got on the end of it. Play continued and a cross eventually did find the Irishman, who directed a header on goal as essentially the final act.

With that, Kelleher matched Liverpool's starting forward line for shots on target. No one in Red actually managed more than he did.

So while we can accept that the creativity and supply wasn't there for the forwards tonight, the goalkeeper really shouldn't be making as much out of it as your forwards.

But then, that just explains this, doesn't it?
