Euro 2024: Every Liverpool star heading to Germany this summer

For Liverpool supporters, this promises to be a summer of uncertainty.

With Jurgen Klopp and many others leaving the club, Arne Slot coming in to replace the German and difficult contract situations for the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, there is no chance that it's a quiet few months.

There will be the usual circus that is the summer transfer market too, with Liverpool expected to be busy in the upcoming window.

However, many of Liverpool's best players won't be getting a rest either.

With the 2024 European Championships taking place in Germany across June and July, plenty of Liverpool's stars will be donning their national team jerseys at the tournament.

For some, it is their first opportunity to represent their country in the competition, with dreams of continental glory filling them with excitement.

With that in mind, here are all the Liverpool players heading to Euro 2024.

LIVERPOOL PLAYERS AT EURO 2024

UEFA have announced that nations at Euro 2024 will be able to travel with 26-man squads, boosting the chances of selection for some Liverpool aces.

While not all preliminary squads have been announced just yet, these are the Reds that will be travelling to the tournament this summer - bar injuries.

In the case of England, Gareth Southgate has called up an initial 33-man preliminary training camp. Therefore there is still the possibility of some Liverpool stars missing out for the Three Lions.

Likewise, Scotland have called up 28, meaning not everyone is yet entitled to go.

Three players will feature for the Netherlands, who are aiming for their first major international silverware since 1988. Liverpool and Dutch skipper Virgil van Dijk will be joined by Cody Gakpo and the lesser-spotted Ryan Gravenberch on the plane to Germany.

France have also named their 26-man squad and it is no surprise to see Ibrahima Konate make the cut. The centre-back could form a formidable partnership with Arsenal star William Saliba and will face his Dutch friends in the group stage.

Dominik Szoboszlai is, rather unsurprisingly, heading off to Euro 2024 with Hungary. Despite losing his place in the Liverpool starting lineup at the end of the season, he remains his nation's talisman and captain.

England have named a 33-man preliminary squad and four Liverpool players are included. Trent Alexander-Arnold is listed as a midfielder alongside Curtis Jones while defenders Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah have also been called up. There is no place for Harvey Elliott, alas.

Portugal have listed Diogo Jota up front, meanwhile, after a season of injury trouble.

Scotland have of course called up Andrew Robertson, who will captain the side in Germany, but a surprise inclusion is Ben Doak, the uncapped 18-year-old with only 30 minutes of Premier League football to his name.

  • Ibrahima Konate (France)
  • Dominik Szoboszlai (Hungary)
  • Virgil van Dijk (Netherlands)
  • Cody Gakpo (Netherlands)
  • Ryan Gravenberch (Netherlands)
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold (England, preliminary training camp)
  • Joe Gomez (England, preliminary training camp)
  • Jarell Quansah (England, preliminary training camp)

  • Curtis Jones (England, preliminary training camp)
  • Diogo Jota (Portugal)
  • Andrew Robertson (Scotland, provisional squad)
  • Ben Doak (Scotland, provisional squad)

PLAYERS WHO MISSED OUT ON EURO 2024

Unfortunately, some of Liverpool's players won't be going to the tournament in a month, with their countries unable to qualify for the big event.

One of those is Caoimhin Kelleher, who would have been Ireland's starting goalkeeper without a shadow of a doubt had they qualified. The stopper may not be a Liverpool player by the time the tournament finishes.

Kostas Tsimikas was also unfortunate to miss out with Greece being knocked out in the play-off final after losing on penalties following a goalless draw with Georgia.

Conor Bradley also won't be there after Northern Ireland failed to make it out of their qualification group.
