Everyone has an opinion on Darwin Nunez and that includes his Liverpool teammates. Here's what the feeling is at Anfield.

Darwin Nunez is not a flawless footballer - that much is clear to everyone. He can produce absolute brilliance but he's just as, if not more, likely to produce the most frustrating moment in any given match.

The problem this season is that the latter has been more likely. Nunez has had those fantastic moments but he's struggling a lot more than he did in either of his previous Liverpool campaigns.

We detailed why that is here - and he's essentially just not quite getting to grips with Arne Slot's system. Now, that could change but there's a growing feeling that Liverpool may want to move on from Nunez.

There's now interest in potential replacements, for one. The Uruguayan may be on borrowed time and a turnaround in form feels necessary to save his career with the Reds.

But not everyone seems to see it that way.

Liverpool stars love Darwin Nunez

Anfield Watch understands Liverpool's senior stars are big fans of Nunez and what he brings to the team. Topping that list is Mo Salah.

And that's a very interesting one. Salah is deep in contract talks with Liverpool right now and the impression at the club is that if he stays, so will Nunez.

That certainly doesn't mean that Nunez would be tied to the club permanently, but it's believed Liverpool are much more likely to back the striker. And it's an understandable one.

Salah and Nunez do have a wonderful partnership. The Uruguayan's physicality is something that massively benefits Salah, creating space for all the other forwards.

If Nunez could finish at an elite level, he'd be one of the world's best, after all. But we've all been saying that for quite some time.

For a player like Salah who is happy to score the goals himself, though, it's Nunez's other attributes that excite him. And that excitement should be enough to keep the pair together.

Providing Salah does get that new contract, of course.
