How good was Conor Bradley against Real Madrid? The press in Spain were certainly impressed after he nullified Kylian Mbappe.

But that’s just Bradley. Despite this being his first Champions League start he was arguably the best player on the pitch.

One assist, very nearly a goal, one unbelievably satisfying tackle on Mbappe; Bradley did it all. So was it enough to leave Trent Alexander-Arnold as an afterthought?

Probably not, given Bradley went off injured in the second half. Alexander-Arnold will almost certainly come straight back into the team as a result.

Conor Bradley’s injury

Conor Bradley has suffered a hamstring injury but Arne Slot was not free with information on the right-back. Certainly, it seems unlikely the Northern Ireland captain will feature against Manchester City on Sunday.

Slot says Bradley has a problem but Liverpool are still working to find out the extent of it. The Dutchman wasn't able to provide more than that.

"[Bradley and Ibou Konate] are still being assessed so it is difficult to know where they are. Let's wait and see but it's never a good sign if players - Conor I had to take him off and Ibou didn't walk off the pitch as he should after such a fantastic game. He should have made a round and clapped to the fans but unfortunately he couldn't so that's not a good sign."

Or, alternatively, he wasn't willing. Liverpool are facing Man City, after all, and it's entirely possible that Slot simply didn't want to give up any injury information ahead of the game.

Mind games, in other words. We'll be waiting and seeing on Bradley, then. We'd love to see him involved after his brilliant efforts against Real Madrid - but we imagine everyone will have to wait.
