Arne Slot has just had the BIGGEST Liverpool game possible dropped on him
The Champions League draw has just handed Arne Slot the biggest Liverpool game he could possibly have at this stage of his reign at the Reds.
Liverpool now know their UEFA Champions League opponents for the reimagined competition. The Reds will face eight teams in the league phase - but one of those fixtures really stands out.
Bayer Leverkusen will come to Anfield for the first time since 2005. That resulted in a 3-1 home win, even though Liverpool were missing one of their star midfielders.

He'll be there this time around, though - Xabi Alonso.
Alonso will lead his record-breaking Leverkusen side to his old stomping ground in what promises to be a massive game. But it'll feel particularly massive for Arne Slot.
This is the biggest fixture he could have possibly received so early in his Liverpool reign.
Arne Slot vs Xabi Alonso
Alonso isn't just the former Liverpool player making his return, nor is he he just the record-breaking manager leading a top team to Anfield. He was the Reds' first choice for Slot's job.
But Alonso rejected Liverpool earlier this year. The Reds were reportedly one of four clubs hoping to convince him to manage them going forward - a conversation Leverkusen ultimately won.
Liverpool missed out on an elite manager in the process, and quickly turned their attention elsewhere. Slot was their eventual choice and while he appears to be an inspired one, the Dutchman wasn't the original plan to replace Jurgen Klopp.
And now he finds himself faced with the man who turned down his job. Slot will naturally be compared to Alonso all season, no matter how each of them does, but this will be very direct.
The Liverpool head coach can certainly prove a point at Anfield, though. Outplay Alonso and he'll strengthen his position - and strengthen the confidence in him from everyone.
A defeat will raise eyebrows and there's no escaping that. What was always going to be a massive Champions League fixture really feels like one of the biggest talking points of the season already.
And we can't wait.
