Salah and Alexander-Arnold have been instrumental in the success of the Reds. But they've become even better under Slot.

While there is a lot of uncertainty about their futures at the club, both have expiring contracts at the end of the season, on the pitch no one can question their commitment and desire for success.

What happens in the next few months away from the pitch is a mystery and will likely have profound implications for the club's long-term future.

But if we want to focus merely on the moment, it's important to highlight just how brilliant the two have been.

Slot gets the best out of Salah and Alexander-Arnold

The duo are thriving under Slot at the moment with the Dutchman freeing them up to be more creative. Slot's build-up play allows both Alexander-Arnold and Salah to find creative solutions on the pitch even more often than they had been doing under Klopp despite averaging less touches per game.

The numbers reflect that as well. Salah is currently leading the pack for big chances created as per Squawka meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold is behind him in second place.

The only player who comes close to them is Kevin De Bruyne in third - highlighting not only Salah and Alexander-Arnold's brilliance but Liverpool's dominance as well.

Both of them have been important creators under Klopp as well. Last season Salah ranked number one for big chances created in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold ranked in fifth place.

Now Salah is five away and Alexander-Arnold is three away from their respective total tally from last season after just 22 games.

The underlying numbers are encouraging as well. As per FBref, Salah's xA assists per 90 are the highest they have ever been (0.43) meanwhile Alexander-Arnold is just 0.03 xA per 90 away from his highest career tally.

The fact that Slot has been able to come in and continue where Klopp left off is really impressive.

For years the duo were seen as system players - but Slot has quashed those theories to smithereens. If anything, he has helped to evolve the duo with both of them on course to reach career highs in terms of creativity.

That is why the Reds chose the Dutchman as their ideal Klopp successor, and that is why it's so important for the club to tie down both Salah and Alexander-Arnold to new deals.

The duo are imperative to the success of this team. Their creative numbers prove it.
