Arne Slot has hinted at when he will officially be confirmed as Liverpool's next manager but has admitted that nothing has been finalised yet.

After months of speculation over who will succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, the Reds finally came to an agreement with Feyenoord for a €13m compensation package that will see Slot arrive at Anfield this summer.

The deal means Slot will become the fourth most expensive coach in football history, although Liverpool are yet to formally announce his arrival this summer.

However, speaking before Feyenoord's weekend fixture with Slot's former club PEC Zwolle, the 45-year-old hinted at when an official announcement of the switch could come.

ARNE SLOT HINTS AT ANNOUNCEMENT

As reported by 1908.nl, Slot has made it clear that he is currently focused on finishing the season strongly with Feyenoord and has suggested that confirmation of his Liverpool move could come at the end of the current campaign.

"Nothing has been officially confirmed yet. I'm sitting here with the Feyenoord emblem on my chest, so in principle the intention is that it will be about Feyenoord," Slot stated.

"I have said before that I am confident that it will be done. I don't know when that will be. But I expect an agreement will be reached."

Asked if the distraction of his future could impact Feyenoord, Slot replied: "Not at all. It is a pleasure to work with this group and staff members. Then it is not difficult at all.

"I will answer all questions after the season, but now I am there to get as many points as possible with Feyenoord."

Slot's comments suggest that an announcement could be made to wait for the end of the season, even if both Liverpool and Feyenoord have very little to play for in their final few matches.

While not officially the Liverpool boss yet, there have been plenty of rumours suggesting that Slot will bring several Feyenoord players with him to Anfield.

One of those most reliably linked is centre-back Lutsharel Geertruida, who was recently spotted in the away end during Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham United at the London Stadium.
