Arne Slot enacted a change from the very start of his first training session at Liverpool. The new head coach didn’t waste any time.

Arne Slot had Liverpool players walking into change from the very start of his first training session, per The Times. The Dutchman took over from Jurgen Klopp this summer and immediately sought to enact his ideas on the team.

Slot has Liverpool's player training from 9:15 am - an earlier starting point than they had under Klopp. The report mentioned how the head coach is a 'workaholic' and quite plainly wants that to rub off on the team.

That's hardly the only change he'd made, either. Breakfast is now compulsory (we're a little surprised it wasn't already, honestly) as it forces the team to congregate together.

There are changes in the type of training, too, with Slot wanting more rondos. They were a feature under Klopp but almost always as a warm-up. Now they're an 'integral' part of training.

Arne Slot brings the change

Following on from Klopp is a near-impossible task, given how dominant the German was at Liverpool. Slot, as someone with a much smaller standing than his predecessor, could have been cautious to bring about too much change.

After all, it requires a lot of confidence to believe you can do things in a better way than one of the world's best.

But it appears Slot doesn't lack that confidence and he wasn't even remotely hesitant to bring about changes. He was asking the players to do things differently from the very first moment, after all.

It's one thing bringing change, though, and another for it to be the right change. Time will tell on that one as we watch this team develop under Slot.

Even the smallest change is going to get judged on the back of this season. Early signs are good, though - but the pressure is about to ramp up exponentially.
