Liverpool fans pick Dominik Szoboszlai replacement - poll results

Liverpool need a Dominik Szoboszlai replacement against Burnley this weekend after the Hungarian was ruled out. Here's who the fans want.

Dominik Szoboszlai is injured again, unfortunately, and missed Liverpool's clash with Arsenal at the weekend. Jurgen Klopp was unable to give a timeline back then but it's clear he won't feature against Burnley on Saturday.

That means Liverpool need a replacement. Fortunately, there are options and we put the four obvious ones to fans on X, looking to see who the preferred choice is.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Thiago, Harvey Elliott and Ryan Gravenberch will hope to get the nod in the middle. All four have very strong arguments for it, too - and fans hope to see Alexander-Arnold picked more than anyone.

Now, the Scouser does 'only' have 46.1 per cent of the vote here, so while he's the favourite, the majority of fans have picked other options. Thiago is the closest rival, with 35.3 per cent.

Both have big question marks over them, though.

Alexander-Arnold will be wanted at right-back if Conor Bradley can't play. The youngster missed the Arsenal defeat for personal reasons after initially being pencilled in to start.

It's possible that Joe Gomez will play at right-back if Andy Robertson is ready to start a game but that's unclear right now. Robertson hasn't played more than 30 minutes since October.

And Thiago is questionable from the start for similar reasons. He played a portion of the Arsenal defeat but that was his first competitive football all season. It's very unlikely that he is ready to start a Premier League game.

Gravenberch started against Arsenal but didn't really impress in his minutes - it's possible that he gets the nod again but Elliott may be a better bet. Then again, Elliot has been given just three Premier League starts all season, so no one should ever really expect him to start.

In other words, this is a difficult one to predict.
