Liverpool transfer latest: Reds find the one to REPLACE Virgil van Dijk as star refuses new contract
There are several reasons why Everton’s second goal shouldn’t have been allowed to stand. Mohamed Salah was fouled at the other end for a start, which should have prompted a free-kick for Liverpool.
It wasn’t given by matchday official Michael Oliver, who then decided that Virgil van Dijk was playing the Toffees onside for the ball which led to the equaliser.
And as the cross went in, Oliver and his team of VAR officials also missed that Beto SHOVED Ibrahima Konate out of the way.
Konate FOULED by Beto?
Had the Frenchman been able to complete his jump unimpeded then there is little doubt that he would have easily won the header. As it was, the ball bounced around the area and Tarkowski lashed home to steal a point.
Up until that point Konate had won every single aerial duel he went into on the night – an astonishing feat given the prowess in the air of Portuguese striker Beto.
He won eight of eight duels up to that point but lost the ninth - for which he was FOULED in any case. The injustice sparked a reaction from Konate on his social media channels.
He reposted a Mark Goldbridge video in which the Manchester United influencer describes the incident as a clear foul.
And on Instagram, Konate posted a picture of himself with the following caption: “It’s all of them against us!! Let’s be ready for the next challenge Sunday now.”

It’s clear the Liverpool contingent feel aggrieved to have been denied two extra points but they must make it right against Wolves at the weekend.
Konate has been a defensive colossus for the Reds this season, establishing a world-class partnership alongside Van Dijk.
