Liverpool have joined the race for Irish Under-17 talent Naj Razi, according to a report. They're far from the only ones, however.

This comes from TeamTalk. They claim that Liverpool are the latest side to develop an interest in Shamrock Rovers' prospect, Naj Razi.

Razi made his senior debut this season, playing twice for Shamrock Rovers as they won the League of Ireland title. The 17-year-old also featured in both UEFA Conference League qualifiers for his side - playing 10 minutes in the first and half an hour in the second.

He's a player with a growing reputation, then, as shown by TeamTalk also claiming Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Celtic are all forming competition for Razi. That goes along with a report from the 42 back in October that Real Madrid have eyes on the teenager.

But for what it's worth, TeamTalk's report suggests Liverpool are one of the more active sides when it comes to scouting Razi. And we wouldn't exactly be shocked if there's truth in that.

The Reds have been on a mission in recent years to snap-up teenage talent just before they establish themselves first-team level. Harvey Elliott was perhaps an change from that - he'd played in the Premier League already - but the likes of Kaide Gordon, Ben Doak, and Lee Clark were all on the verge of breaking through when Liverpool signed them.

Razi could be along those lines, too. The fact multiple outlets are suggesting elite clubs have interest in him suggests Liverpool are at least looking at the player.

As for how Razi plays, there isn't much to go on. He was a no.10 for the Irish Under-17s at the European Championships this year, while the 42 have him down as a forward/winger.

This is one to keep an eye on, then, as Liverpool continue their search for the best young talent around. Razi could well be next.
