There are many others who the club acquired from club rivals in England who are also starting to make their mark including the likes of Amara Nallo and Kaide Gordon.

Undoubtedly, the biggest transfer coup so far has been landing Ngumoha from Chelsea. However, the club's recent surprise acquisition from Man City could top that.

Lucas Clarke promoted at Liverpool after joining from Man City

It came as a major surprise earlier this week when it was confirmed that talented defender Lucas Clarke had joined the club from none other than Liverpool's main rivals Manchester City.

Clarke is a highly rated defender who has been on the books at Man City for a while. However, the Reds managed to lure him to the club's academy in a major coup.

Born in 2008, the expectation was for Clarke to begin playing with the club's U16 team. However, he has seemingly been immediately promoted to the U18s.

Clarke was named on the bench for Liverpool U18s game against Wolverhampton on Saturday afternoon.

The strong squad included the likes of Ngumoha and Kareem Ahmed as well as Joe Bradshaw and Djibril Cisse's son, Prince Kobe, who was seemingly given an opportunity to play at right-back, rather than his customary attacking role.

It's fair to see Clarke may have exceeded expectations at Liverpool. At Man City he had not been given an opportunity to play in the U18 Premier League.

However, just days after joining Liverpool he is already on the cusp of making his debut.

If that does not explain why he made the decision to make the switch, nothing will. Liverpool clearly value talent and are keen to promote them and help them grow as players.
