INSANE price for Liverpool target Dean Huijsen revealed
Liverpool have understood for some time now that they’d need to improve their defensive capabilities in some way at the end of this season.
Not that the defence has been bad by any means, of course. But Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold may be on their way out of the club, Andy Robertson has clearly regressed and Ibrahima Konate remains injury-prone.

As a result, rumours of new defenders have been abundant this season.
But the most exciting may be Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen.
Despite being only 19-years old, Huijsen is already one of the most exciting defenders in the world. The poise and grace he has shown this season has been a significant part of the reason Bournemouth sit just four points off the Champions League places at time of writing.
Liverpool’s interest in Huijsen has been well established by this point and what they need to do to get him is becoming clearer.

Liverpool will need to pay release clause 'in full' for Huijsen
According to a new report by TEAMtalk says that the release clause in Huijsen’s contract is £50m and that the Cherries “will demand the centre-back’s release clause in full” if he is to depart the club this summer.
The report also states that Huijsen “fits the bill when it comes to age, ability, and availability – three key factors to Liverpool’s recruitment”.
The Reds’ dedication to not signing players over the age of 25 has been known for a while, so age and ability aren’t very surprising.

It also makes sense that Arne Slot is looking to prioritise players who have an above-average ability to stay on the pitch. As the old adage goes, there’s no better ability than availability.
The Reds will reportedly face competition from Chelsea and Tottenham for the Spanish youth international.
But they should be confident, coming off a league title season and Van Dijk’s age, that they will be able to pitch a compelling argument about Huijsen’s future to him.
And £50m for his potential is the type of deal we look back on and laugh at when he’s won five league titles.
