In the meantime, he has been suspended while the investigation is underway.

Coote has apparently denied the video as per The Mirror's Darren Moore with PGMOL having tech experts examining the authenticity of the footage.

It remains to be seen what the verdict of the investigation conducted by the PGMOL will be.

In the midst of all this Liverpool have seemingly issued a response on the subject.

Liverpool issue David Coote response

With Liverpool at the centre of the alleged controversy the club have now made a response according to Liverpool reporter David Lynch.

Taking to his social media account, Lynch wrote: "Liverpool are aware of the video doing the rounds on social media today but will not be making comment while the PGMOL conduct their investigation into the matter."

Given that the matter is under investigation it makes sense for Liverpool not to respond.

Everything depends on what the outcome of the investigation will be. For now, it's difficult to verify the authenticity of the video and Coote has seemingly denied the allegations.

Until the matter is resolved and the investigation has a verdict, it's difficult to predict what the ramifications of this will be.

This very much an unprecedented case and in the age of AI it's important to approach it with caution.

While Coote has seemingly made some shocking decisions against Liverpool in the past that is not a confirmation that the video that has surfaced online is real.
