The Reds midfielder capped off a stellar performance by finding the back of the net at the back post, just moments after Nicolas Jackson had equalised for Chelsea. It was a strong response from Arne Slot’s side following Manchester City’s earlier victory, which had briefly lifted them into pole position.
Jones was heavily involved in the tie winning a penalty, making crucial blocks and scoring the match-winner. It was certainly a man of the match performance from the new dad.

The 23-year-old welcomed his daughter Giselle with partner Saffie Khan exactly a week ago, however Slot's recent rule change means players now stay at home ahead of games at Anfield. Hardly ideal when you have a newborn baby!
However, in his post-match interview with Sky Sports Jones revealed exactly why he had so much energy!
"I'm a Dad a week. It's a different type of joy. I have a smile on my face all week. I hope my girlfriend and baby are watching at home.” said Jones.
"Yeah for sure I was in the spare room last night! But at the same time she's a little dream, when she's awake she just wants a feed and changing then she's back asleep.
"If I stayed in the main room, I would've been fine, but I just thought it's wise that I stay in the spare room. I was wide awake and I had energy!"
The game revolved around Jones, who was was pivotal defensively, appearing in his own box to make a crucial block as well as playing a key role in the attacking phase as well.
His intelligent midfield run for the winning goal showcased his ability to ghost into dangerous positions unnoticed. Since his emergence, Jones has demonstrated that he has the confidence and personality needed to shine on big occasions
