Pundit makes strong Liverpol admission as the Reds 'schooled' Man United

Manchester United’s Casemiro has been at the heart of heated debates on how Liverpool so easily demolished their rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Brazilian midfielder had a nightmare first half before being replaced at the interval. The 32-year-old gave the ball away for both of Luis Diaz’s goals.

Speaking on ESPN, pundit Craig Burley believes the scrutiny Casemiro has come under from United fans is unjust, and it was the team as a whole who made it scarily simple for Liverpool.

“This is a Man United problem,” said Burley. “This is an Erik ten Hag problem, because this game after the initial 10, 15 minutes was so embarrassingly easy for Liverpool.

“It was frightening and yeah, United had a couple of chances here and there but they were completely schooled all over the field, particularly in the middle of the park with Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai.

UNITED COULDN'T COPE WITH LIVERPOOL

Fingers can be pointed to individuals but the fact of the matter regarding Sunday's encounter is that United simply couldn't live with Arne Slot's side.

Liverpool were superior in all areas of the game. Credit must go to Slot who has seen his side go away to Old Trafford - which is always a difficult fixure - and dismantle their biggest rivals in the third game of his tenure in such a dominant fashion.

"The movement of Jota, the movement of the wide players, how Liverpool passed it, how they defended a little deeper with the two sitting midfielders, with Gravenberch and Mac Allister a bit deeper but still getting forward with the same pace when they win it, like Jurgen Klopp’s side did.

"It was nice and balanced from Liverpool. Yes, we can talk about superstars at the twilight of their career having bad days in the office and he did but this is not a result of Casemiro playing bad," Burley added.

A PERFECT START FOR ARNE SLOT

Liverpool's victory at Old Trafford has seen Slot's side maintain their perfect start to the Premier League campaign as they sit at the summit of the table alongside Manchester City on maximum points.

Slot has overseen his side keeping three clean sheets in their opening three fixtures and is the first Premier League boss to achieve that feat since the late Sven-Goran Eriksson in 2007, when he was in charge of Manchester City.

The Dutchman is also the first Liverpool manager to win his first meeting with United since Bob Paisley in 1975 and only the second to do it at Old Trafford, after George Kay's success way back in 1936.

A very encouraging start for Slot as his players head off for the first international break of the season this week.
