Liverpool could target Norwich, Leeds United & Watford stars if they get relegated
According to a recent report, Liverpool could make moves for a handful of players if their clubs get relegated from the Premier League this season.
Liverpool love a bargain from a relegated club. Previous success stories have included Andy Robertson who the Reds signed from Hull City for a fee of £8m.
Jurgen Klopp also signed Gini Wijnaldum for a fee of £25m in 2016 after Newcastle United were relegated to the Championship.
Now, according to a report by the Liverpool Echo, as cited by Anfield Edition, Liverpool have four players they could target if their respective clubs go down this season.
Watford's Ismaila Sarr, Norwich's Max Aarons and Leeds United's duo of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips all could be targeted by Liverpool if they get relegated.
Anfield Watch Verdict
Yesterday, Liverpool were linked with a move for Phillips as he is about to change his agents. One of the agencies bidding for his signature told the Leeds midfielder that they can get him a move to Anfield if he wants.
The Reds have also previously been linked with Sarr in the past. However, that deal collapsed after Watford wouldn't budge on their price.
Liverpool ended up signing Diogo Jota instead, so missing out on the Senegalese winger was not a big deal in the end.
Raphinha has also been a Liverpool target for a while now. His Brazilian teammate and Reds midfielder Fabinho even admitted that he thought that he was going to sign for Liverpool last summer transfer window.
"Even in the summer transfer market, there was some talk that he could go to Liverpool, I even expected that to happen, but he stayed at Leeds," said Fabinho, as cited by LFC Transfer Room.
Aarons would also be a great option for Liverpool. With Kostas Tsimikas arriving at Anfield, it has shown Klopp how important it is to have solid backups for our full-backs.
With Neco Williams potentially departing next season, Aarons would be a great option to deputise for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
