If Liverpool were victorious against the Blues, it would mark their 3000th win in the club’s history, a figure which few other English clubs are yet to reach.

Not only could it be Liverpool’s 3000th win, it could also be their 50th league victory at Anfield over Chelsea, with their last one coming in January’s 4-1 thrashing of the Londoners. A goal tomorrow would be Liverpool’s 250th league goal against the opponent as well.

Individual history-makers

It’s not just about the team though, as landmark appearances will likely arrive for Ibrahima Konate and Caoimhin Kelleher with potential 100th and 50th games for the Reds.

Luis Diaz also has the chance to score in three consecutive league games against Chelsea for the first time in over 30 years, as not since Ian Rush in October 1990 has this been achieved by a Liverpool player.

Last season, the Reds enjoyed strong performances against Chelsea, most notably their Carabao Cup final victory in February with a heavily depleted squad. In the league, there was the aforementioned 4-1 victory at Anfield as well as the 1-1 draw which opened both sides’ 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
