Here's the PROOF that Liverpool are the best team in Europe
Liverpool have been having a STUNNING season at home and abroad. The FA Cup might well remain a disappointing blot on their record but Arne Slot’s men are firing on all cylinders elsewhere.
The Reds look a shoo-in for the Premier League having moved into a near-unassailable lead over Arsenal. And there is an EFL Cup final against Newcastle to look forward to next week for good measure.

This week also brought more progress in the Champions League. Liverpool finished top of the league phase with scarcely a blemish on their record until qualification was already assured.

On Wednesday they completed a last-16 first-leg victory over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes. That came courtesy of a late Harvey Elliott strike, giving the Merseysiders a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
And that handed Slot another unique record to hold in his first season in the Anfield hotseat.
Liverpool beat champions of Germany, Spain, England AND France
Liverpool have now won matches this term against the reigning champions of Germany, Spain, England and France. Three of those victories have come the Champions League while Manchester City have been despatched on the home front.
The Reds demolished Bayer Leverkusen back in November with Luis Diaz scoring a hat-trick against Xabi Alonso’s much-vaunted Bundesliga title holders. Cody Gakpo netted the other.
Then LaLiga title holders Real Madrid came to Anfield the same month and were beaten with ease thanks to Alexis Mac Allister and Gakpo. The win against PSG this week therefore completed a Champions League hat-trick of sorts.
And to that sequence can be added to two decisive Premier League wins against Pep Guardiola’s disjointed champions of England.
Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah scored in the game at Anfield back in December while Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai were on target in the return at the Etihad last month.
These results demonstrate Liverpool’s remarkable consistency under Arne Slot and emphasise their ability to mix it right at the highest level.

This season surely ends with Slot carrying away at least one trophy. And they can show they’ve beaten the best to get there.
