Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp linked with shock move to European giants

Serie A giants Inter Milan would reportedly consider a move for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp if Simeone Inzaghi is relieved of his duties this season.

According to La Stampa, as quoted by Get Italian Football News, Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto de Zerbi has also emerged as an option for the Nerazzurri, while ex-Inter Milan midfielder Thiago Motta, who is currently managing Bologna, is also being considered to take over the reins from Inzaghi.

Much like Liverpool, who find themselves seventh in the Premier League standings after 23 games played with just 36 points to their name, Inter Milan haven't been at their best this season. They are second on the Serie A table but are a staggering 18 points behind league leaders Napoli, who have been one of the most exciting teams to watch this season under Luciano Spalletti.

On the other hand, Liverpool are going through their worst spell under Klopp and will likely miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification if their poor form continues. To make matters worse, the Reds suffered a damaging 5-2 defeat against Real Madrid at Anfield last week in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash, indicating that things aren't going well for them at the moment.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Jurgen Klopp is here to stay at Liverpool and signed a new contract to keep him at the club until 2026, so we can confidently file this under the 'not happening' category. If Inter Milan want a new manager, they will have to look elsewhere as the German is fully committed to building another great Liverpool team.

It's been a bit of a sobering spell for Liverpool in recent months after coming ever so close to completing the quadruple last time out, but Klopp is definitely still the right man for the job. The summer of 2023 could be one of the most important ones in Liverpool's history as the German looks to make some hard calls to revitalize his aging squad.
