Liverpool kickstart their 2023/24 Carabao Cup journey on Wednesday night as they welcome Leicester City to Anfield.

The Reds may generally have bigger priorities than the League Cup, but they've still won England's second domestic cup competition a record nine times – most recently in 2021/22 – and provided some great memories along the way.

Here are six of the very best Carabao Cup goals scored under Jurgen Klopp.

6. Takumi Minamino vs Lincoln (2020/21)

During Minamino's time on Merseyside, the Japanese forward built a special bond with the Carabao Cup, scoring six goals in seven outings in the competition.

The 28-year-old played a crucial part in Liverpool's League Cup triumph in 2021/22, though one of his best goals actually came the season before.

Liverpool defeated Lincoln City 7-2 in the third round of the competition, with Minamino's first of two that night making our list.

The ball fell perfectly for the winger who picked out the far top corner effortlessly with a super first-time effort from outside the box.

5. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain vs Arsenal (2019/20)

Liverpool's most entertaining game in the Carabao Cup under Jurgen Klopp is undoubtedly the ten-goal thriller against Arsenal at Anfield back in 2019.

A 5-5 draw saw the game go to penalties, before Curtis Jones netted the deciding spot kick.

Both teams bagged some incredible goals on the night with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's second-half effort being one of them.

The midfielder intercepted the ball off Ainsley Maitland-Niles before producing a thunderous attempt into the top corner from 25 yards out against his old club.

One of several brilliant strikes the Englishman scored in front of the Kop during his time at Anfield.

4. Divock Origi vs Preston (2021/22)

Another player that excelled in this competition is fan favourite Divock Origi.

The Belgian, who features twice on this list, scored a goal like no other we have seen when Liverpool defeated Preston 2-0 at Deepdale in the Carabao Cup winning season.

A moment of genius invention saw Origi wrap the game up with a scorpion kick that looped over the goalkeeper in front of the travelling Reds.

3. Divock Origi vs Arsenal (2019/20)

Returning to Liverpool's thriller against Arsenal, Origi produced the most pivotal goal of them all in the dying embers of the encounter, sending the game to the shootout.

Liverpool once more showed their 'never say die' mentality as Neco Williams' pinpoint cross was met by an acrobatic effort from Origi who sent the ball flying past Emiliano Martinez.

2. Takumi Minamino vs Leicester City (2021/22)

Minamino achieved cult hero status at Anfield in December 2021.

With the Reds 3-2 down deep into stoppage time of the quarter final, the Japanese forward chested down a hopeful ball into the box and smashed past Kasper Schmeichel wit superb technique to take the game to penalties.

Minamino actually missed his spot kick, but it didn't matter as Liverpool won 5-4 on pens.

1. Xherdan Shaqiri vs Lincoln (2020/21)

Claiming top spot in this list is Xherdan Shaqiri's magical free-kick against Lincoln City.

The Switzerland international's curling effort broke the deadlock at Sincil Bank, opening the floodgates for Jurgen Klopp's men.

There's never been any doubt over the quality Shaqiri's left-foot can produce and he showed why in 2019, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
