Liverpool fans have learned that the hard way last season when all of a sudden Jurgen Klopp left the club and left a major void at Anfield in the process.
But Klopp's departure was just the beginning. There is a new era at the club, which means more changes are afoot.
Bit by bit, Klopp's team of mentality monsters will be replaced by Slot's very own version of that.
Eventually, all of them will leave. Including Salah, who could leave sooner than expected considering his current contract expires at the end of the season.

We hope Salah stays for the foreseeable future, and based on Liverpool's activity at the moment, that seems to be the case as the club aren't looking at replacements for now, but for later.
Why Sindre Walle Egeli could be Liverpool's Mo Salah heir
One player valued at €9m by Football Transfers is Walle Egeli of FC Nordsjaelland. The 18-year-old teenager is on Liverpool's transfer radar according to Football Insider, and it would make sense if he was.
He has been the stand-out player for Nordsjaelland this season. A left-footed winger who is relatively tall at 1.82 metres, Walle Egeli is a productive goal-scorer and creator.
At U19 level for Nordsjalleand, Walle Egeli averaged a whopping 1.21 goals and 0.30 assists per 90, which is on par with Salah's production rate this season.
And yes, Walle Egeli was doing this in the U19 Danish Superliga but the reality is there are few wingers in European football at any level who can replicate these kind of numbers - so even doing this in an U19 league is impressive.
It's all the more impressive doing it for a club who are renowned for producing elite talent, including the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Mikkel Damsgaard or Patrick Dorgu.
Since catching the eye in the U19 league last season, Walle Egeli has been promoted to the first team and he's continued to impress at senior level.
In his debut campaign for Nordsjaelland so far, Walle Egeli is averaging 0.58 goal contributions per 90.
Not quite the level he was delivering at youth level but it's still a really encouraging output when you consider he isn't necessarily playing for one of the most dominant sides in the league.
Nordsjaelland are currently in 5th place from 12 teams, so they are in the upper regions of the Danish Superliga but they aren't a massive offensive force.
In fact when we are looking at production, Walle Egeli is only behind Benjamin Nygren (13) for the most goal contributions in all competitions for the club with 11 so far in the campaign.
Delving deeper into the numbers, Walle Egeli's underlying numbers would suggest he should be averaging more goals and assists as well.
When it comes to xG he's averaged 0.41 or 8.19 in total so far this season which is -2.19 below his current output (6).
Meanwhile, his xA is 4.27 which is 0.27 more than his actual output.
All together he should be averaging around 0.64 goal contributions per 90 based on the underlying numbers.
And it's not just his output, which is impressive. He's quick and explosive and a brilliant dribbler. Only three players with 1500+ minutes in the league have averaged more than six dribbles per 90 and Walle Egeli is one of them, completing 51% of his attempts.
Meanwhile, he is also very efficient at making runs into the box and finding himself in goal-scoring opportunities. He is third for touches in the opposition's penalty area (4.38 per 90).
All of these numbers and more will be the reason why Liverpool's scouts have taken a liking to him.
Walle Egeli is not an immediate replacement for Salah but his numbers show that in the future he could definitely be his heir to the throne at Anfield.
