Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has received a triple boost ahead of the Reds’ second fixture on their United States tour with Curtis Jones back in training and Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate joining up with the squad.

Jones, 23, was withdrawn during the first half of Liverpool’s game against Real Betis in Pittsburgh as a precaution with Slot later revealing that the midfielder would be assessed.

However, it now appears Jones’ injury minimal as he linked up with the squad for a session at the NovaCare Complex in Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile Konate and Gravenberch are back with their club mates following extended time off after the European Championship.

Both went to the semi-finals with their respective squads although neither saw any playing time in Germany and flew out to the USA on Monday.

Konate, 25, was behind first-choice France duo Dayot Upamecano and William Saliba after losing his place in the Liverpool line-up towards the end of last season. Les Bleus were defeated by Spain in the last four.

Konate and Gravenberch should be fresh

Gravenberch, 22, could not force his way into Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands starting XI despite the injury-enforced losses of Frenkie de Jong and reported Liverpool transfer target Teun Koopmeiners.

Another player the Reds are interested in, PSV’s Joey Veerman, got minutes in the midfield instead.

Both players should be relatively fresh considering they got no game time at the showpiece tournament.

Liverpool have used Jarell Quansah and Sepp van den Berg as their starting centre backs on tour thus far with Konate and other senior options Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez absent. Konate’s return will give Slot added numbers in the backline.

Gravenberch midfield chance

In midfield meanwhile, Gravenberch has a real chance to stake a claim with Alexis Mac Allister still on holiday and Wataru Endo struggling in the opening game versus Betis

He could be provided a No.8 position in the side with Dominik Szoboszlai and Harvey Elliott both featuring at ‘false 9’ in Pittsburgh due to a lack of striking options up top.

Liverpool play Premier League rivals Arsenal on Wednesday night in Philadelphia and round out the tour with a match against Manchester United before flying home.
