Liverpool's new signing SPOTTED alongside Arne Slot
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot was suspended for the Reds’ EFL Cup quarter-final against Southampton on Wednesday night.
Assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff and fellow first-team staff member John Heitinga were assigned the touchline in the Dutchman’s place.

Instead of watching the game from his usual vantage point in the dugout, Slot was up in the stands close to the radio commentators.
As the television cameras sought to get a sight of the Liverpool boss, at St. Mary’s, plenty of Liverpool fans had their interest piqued by the presence of another baldheaded figure sitting alongside Slot.
Liverpool sign Roderick van der Ham
It was revealed to be none other than Roderick van der Ham, Liverpool’s new first-team tactical analyst. Van der Ham was revealed back in October to be leaving Feyenoord for Liverpool. He had worked under Slot for 95 matches - stretching back to 2022 - at De Kuip.
Together with Slot, Hulshoff and another new Liverpool staff member in Ruben Peeters, the backroom team had won the Eredivisie title, the KNVB Beker (Dutch cup) and the Johan Cruyff Shield.
Van der Ham didn’t make the move with his former boss in the summer but posted an emotional farewell to Feyenoord a couple of months ago. It was shortly confirmed thereafter that Van der Ham had taken up his new role with Liverpool.
“From De Kuip to Anfield,” he wrote on LinkedIn earlier this month. “Now it's already December, I'm looking back to a grateful November. “Almost a month ago I officially left Feyenoord for a new challenge and adventure at Liverpool FC.
“It was sad to say goodbye to a lot of great colleagues, but also exciting to meet a lot of new ones at the AXA Training Centre.
“And, although I love the iconic stadium that "De Kuip" is, it's wonderful to say that another iconic stadium as Anfield is my new homeground.”
The 33-year-old has held various positions with numerous teams since starting in football aged only 18. He has previously worked as a video analyst for the Netherlands’ Under-19s, RKC Waalwijk and Heracles. He was also employed as a fitness coach at NAC Breda.
Now Liverpool fans will be seeing a lot more of Van der Ham as he helps Slot plot a route to success at Anfield.
