It’s been a season to remember so far with Liverpool also sitting comfortably at the summit of the Premier League table as the intensive festive schedule lingers on the horizon.

Despite not featuring over the weekend, it was Liverpool who won the weekend with Manchester City and Arsenal both dropping points.

Guardiola’s City were held to Crystal Palace whilst Bukayo Saka’s late winner against Fulham was ruled out for a marginal offside.

The Reds are now 6 points clear of Arsenal and 8 ahead of City with a game in hand on them both.

Liverpool handed injury boost

Liverpool have also been handed a boost on the injury front too with a trio of Reds potentially ready to feature against Girona on Tuesday.

Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa could all be back in a Liverpool squad for the first time in several weeks.

Alisson has been sidelined for two months after sustaining a hamstring injury away at Crystal Palace.

Diogo Jota suffered a rib injury against Chelsea six weeks ago, with a return eagerly anticipated with Darwin Nunez struggling to have a real impact this season.

As for Chiesa, the Italian hasn’t made a matchday squad since Liverpool’s 2-1 triumph over Wolves at the end of September.

Alexis Mac Allister will serve a one-match suspension on Tuesday after an accumulation of yellow cards in Europe.

The Argentine will also do the same when the Reds welcome Fulham next week due to the postponement of the Merseyside derby this weekend.

Players are returning from injury at a crucial time with an intense Christmas period beckoning.

It’s that time of year when you need to start thinking of gift ideas for loved ones and you should look no further than Liverpool’s extended Black Friday sale.
