Everything that could have gone wrong for Liverpool went wrong against Tottenham on Wednesday night.
Away in the capital, Liverpool didn't actually perform awful. The Reds had chances in their favour and could have won the game.

The game was mired by a mind-boggling decision not to award the Lucas Bergvall a second-yellow card, who would subsequently go on to score the winner.
That was a bitter blow for Liverpool. But there was another, even bigger blow for one Liverpool star sitting on the bench. One that has definitely sealed his fate.
Why Arne Slot's Harvey Elliott call confirms his worst fears
Despite Dominik Szoboszlai missing from the Liverpool squad and Curtis Jones having played a lot of minutes recently, Elliott only found himself on the bench against Tottenham.
And as Jones struggled to get into the game and make an impact, Slot opted not to use Elliott. Instead, the youngster remained on the bench as Jones played another full 90 minutes.
That decision by Slot is a damning indictment of how he views Elliott.
Since recovering from his foot injury, Elliott has hardly featured in the team.
In total, he has played just 36 minutes in the Premier League over the course of the last seven games which averages out to about five minutes per game.
This is despite Elliott making a huge impact on his first start of the season and netting a goal against Southampton in the previous round of the League Cup to help Liverpool reach the semi-final.
The fact that Elliott didn't get any minutes shows just how much he has fallen down in the pecking order.
It confirms the boyhood Liverpool star's probable worst fears - he might just have to leave Anfield for pastures new in order to get his career back on track.
