Liverpool are reportedly watching the progress of an 18-goal Arsenal forward

Liverpool are interested in signing Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, according to ESPN's Mark Ogden, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

The journalist has reported that both the Reds and Manchester City are watching the progress of the 20-year-old.

Ogden further added that both clubs could make a move for Saka if the Gunners fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Arsenal sit in sixth-place on the Premier League table. The Gunners are two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.

Saka's contract expires in June 2024. Transfermarkt value the England international at €65 million.

We would love to see Liverpool sign Saka, as he is a very talented footballer. The winger has scored 18 goals and registered 25 assists in 114 appearances for Arsenal's first-team.

Saka has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.99 in the Premier League this season.

Former Gunners forward Ian Wright is certainly a fan of the 20-year-old.

As quoted by Football London, the 58-year-old told ITV the following back in July 2021: “We’re talking about someone that joined Arsenal’s academy at age 7.

“He’s progressed through, he’s always been somebody that’s played at a higher level. He’s played for England since he was 16, he’s played at every level.

“He’s not just arrived here, he’s somebody that was destined to do what he’s doing right now.

“That’s why everyone at Arsenal knows what he’s capable of, and we’re seeing it right now.”

Wright found the back of the net 153 times in 257 appearances for Arsenal, so he certainly knows a good winger when he sees one.

However, we would be surprised if the Gunners were to sell Saka to a direct rival. Selling the youngster to either Liverpool or Manchester City would only make both sides harder to catch.

But, only time will tell if Liverpool are to make a move for Saka.
