Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Chelsea man valued at €35 million
Liverpool are keeping tabs on Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger, according to transfer insider Dean Jones, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.
Rudiger's contract expires at the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign.
According to Jones, there is a possibility that the 28-year-old will not sign a new deal with the Blues. With that being the case, Jones has stated that the Reds are being kept in the loop regarding Rudiger's situation.
In other words, Liverpool could attempt to sign the German international on a free transfer next summer.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Rudiger is a fine player. The centre-back is averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.07 in the early stages of the 2021-22 campaign.
Rudiger also possesses a current market value of €35 million.
Therefore, we would not be against Liverpool signing Rudiger on a free transfer. Yes, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has plenty of central defenders at his disposal (Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate).
But, you can never have too many good players in your squad.
